Gilbert is best known in the industry as a contributor to the NewspaperNext project produced by the American Press Institute. He was a founding partner of Innosight (a Boston-based consultancy that specializes in media clients targeting disruptive innovation) and professor of entrepreneurial management at Harvard Business School where he published numerous award-winning articles on innovation. He has an extensive background in digital media and also authored the book “From Resource Allocations to Strategy” in addition to numerous articles on media innovation and the growth of the internet.

He is now putting all of that knowledge into action at Deseret News Publishing Company and Deseret Digital Media. In the keynote address, he will share his plans, early success stories and lessons learned. He will talk about a new business model for media companies and will also address content strategies that are being employed. Already these new strategies have allowed them to significantly reduce their costs while greatly improving content.

There is no doubt that big, bold moves are being made at Deseret Digital Media. Industry executives will be treated to a rare speaking appearance by one of the brightest minds in the business.
