New Online Contest Entry System...as Easy as 1-2-3

SNA has teamed up with NewspaperToolbox to provide an online entry platform for the 2011 Advertising & Promotions Contest. This new online contest entry system is designed to make the process of entering contests quicker, easier and less costly than the previous method of mailing ‘hard-copy’ material.

SNA chose to partner with NewspaperToolbox because of their proven ability to collect and share revenue-generating ideas with publishers throughout North America. With just a click of a button, you can access thousands of ready-to-sell ideas, reader contests, concept pages, themed editorial features and articles, special supplements, games, horoscopes, recipes and so much more. The ideas and concepts they present are easy-to-sell and are adaptable to any market, large or small.

The SNA Advertising & Promotions Contest attracts approximately 600 entries each year from a wide-range of suburban and community publications. These entries provide a treasure-trove of ideas that, in the past, have been limited in distribution to only the category winners because of the manual collection process. This new online system allows SNA to archive and share all contest entries with the entire SNA membership.

Working in partnership with NewspaperToolbox, we were able to completely customize the entry system resulting in a very easy three-step process:
  • Step 1 – Account Set-up: Click on ‘Create an Account Now’ in the login area on the contest home page and submit your publication’s information.
  • Step 2 – Submitting Entries: Simply follow the step-by-step instructions for submitting each entry and uploading your material.
  • Step 3 – Payment: Automatically calculates the cost of your entries and provides payment confirmation.
We sincerely hope you take advantage of this new technology to enter this and other SNA contests throughout the year; however, we understand that new technology is not always immediately embraced and will therefore continue to accept contest entries manually. About the SNA Advertising & Promotions Contest:

With 30 categories and 5 special awards, the SNA Advertising and Promotions Contest awards recognize outstanding contributions to the quality of advertising and promotional/marketing programs implemented at daily and weekly suburban and community newspapers.

The objectives of this contest are to provide acknowledgment for the advertising and promotional achievements of the suburban and community newspaper industry and, by such acknowledgment, to stimulate even higher standards of excellence throughout the industry. This contest is open to SNA members and non-members. All entries must have been published in your newspaper(s) between April 1, 2010–March 31, 2011.

Online entries must be submitted by end of day, Monday, May 23, 2011. The submission of manual ‘mail-in’ entries must be postmarked by Friday, May 20, 2011 and received at SNA Headquarters no later than May 27, 2010. Mail-in entries postmarked after May 20, 2011 may not be accepted
